Job Title: Senior Lawyer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description
The ideal candidate must be versatile in Commercial Law and in any of the following areas:

  • Maritime Law
  • Oil & Gas Law
  • Energy law
  • Drafting Commercial Contracts
  • Handling Real Estate Brokerage, Conveyancing Etc.
  • Dispute Resolution, Arbitration and Mediation
  • Restructuring, Debt Recovery and Telecoms Law

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal agreements and other documentation for the firm
  • Researching and providing opinions/advice on legal issues relating to transactions
  • Ability to keep confidentiality in respect of all matters handled
  • Professionalism and service-oriented.

Qualifications

  • Masters of Law (LL.M) from a recognized university
  • Minimum of 10 years post-bar experience in a reputable Law firm
  • Proficient with commercial negotiation and be familiar with business related to marine, oil and gas, debt recovery, restructuring, telecoms, commercial contracts and real estate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Nigerian law

Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 monthly.

Responsibilities
As an HR Manager, main duties of the role will include:

  • Pro-actively developing effective working relationships with partners and providing HR advice, guidance, coaching and support
  • Facilitating delivery of an on-going performance management review, reinforcing the importance of continuous and honest feedback including coaching partners and managers
  • Maintaining and appropriately sharing knowledge of employment legislation, best practice and industry experience
  • Ensuring employee absenteeism is monitored and appropriate action taken
  • Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and systems to ensure that the handbooks are comprehensive and up-to-date
  • In conjunction with the CEO, evaluate training and development requirements
  • Design and oversee the firm’s annual internal training programme
  • Providing support and advice to practice areas and support teams on strategy and operational matters
  • Ensuring that all employee relations matters are handled appropriately and in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures and legislative requirements
  • Effectively manage discipline and grievance issues
  • Manage the recruitment process when required

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences
  • Must have a CIPM certificate
  • Candidate should have knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an HR officer
  • The ideal candidate must be able to do performance appraisal, recruitment, and training.
