Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an Accounting Manager to help build the accounting department at Qualiquant Services Limited. Thus; you will be expected to have a deep technical accounting knowledge for Nigerian businesses, ability to work without existing structure, and be a strong cross-functional business partner able to deliver insights and offer strategic views towards evaluating business opportunities.

Job Description
Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation:

  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Account Budgeting
  • Cash Management
  • Create proper accounting processes for disbursement of funds, payment of tutors, tracking expenses, remittances, receipts, bank reconciliations, etc., and ensure all records are accurately recorded in Quickbooks and up-to-date at all times
  • Complete annual audits
  • Month and end-year audits
  • Reports and forecasting
  • Overall P & L Management
  • Setup proper chart of accounts in Quickbooks and liaise with the product team to ensure consistency of financial data captured across all platforms.
  • Carry out daily reconciliation of all transactions, confirmation of payments and ensuring all inflows and outflows are properly accounted for:
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports/ statements
    • Establish and implement proper accounting methods, policies and principles
    • Supervise and evaluate the organization’s daily operations
    • Up to date on accounting laws and principles in Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations of the organisation’s accounting department
  • Provide financial recommendation and proffer solutions to financial issues accordingly
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Improve accounting systems / procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct subordinates to comply with accounting best practices

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc degree in Accounting, Economics or similar roles (a Master’s degree is a plus)
  • At least 5 years prior experience working as an accounting manager
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • Accounting Certification: ICAN or ACCA
  • Use of MS Office and cloud accounting softwares especially Quickbooks accounting software
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
